My Current Process & Flossing (For Night Owls)

Thought I would share with you my current 'system' for the work week. I'd burn out by tea time and have no energy to be creative without it. Hopefully you can take something away.

First things first. 1) I am not a morning person. So none of this bs wake up at 4.45am to beat everyone. 2) My superpower is my ability to nap at the drop of a hat, frequently (if required), and without ruining my night's sleep.

Off we gooooooo:
  •  Sleep (three to four possible locations due to having small children. My bed, spare bed, floor bed 1, floor bed 2 ie mattress moves with me to either child's floor).
  • Wakeup 7.30am. Make bed and drink water. Have shower then *meditate for five to ten minutes. Play with children and possibly bang out a tune on the piano. Drop kids off at school/daycare some days.
  • Drive to work. Remind myself that "I am lucky". Speak affirmation "I will be a famous writer". Think through all the wonderful things I will do that day including a) driving past the ocean b) chatting with bubbly co worker c) anything of interest d) going for a walk at lunchtime e) eating nice food f) picking up/playing with kids g) nice dinner and chatting with wife h) gym and or other exercise i) music j) writing k) reading.
  • Going through work morning. About half the week I skip breakfast and so am on a 16 hour fast. Usually lunch consists of a good salad and meat.
  • Power through rest of day. Pretty tired come 2-3pm. Get a second wind around 4-5.30pm. Then have nice meal and catchup with family. Bath and bed the kids.
  • Power nap for 30mins to an hour. Usually waking up around 8pm
  • Chill for half an hour to an hour. Chat with wife. Do some household chores.
  • Go for long walk and then do **exercise.
  • Sit at computer and check friends messages etc.
  • Blog (ie this)
  • Creative write. Might also do 5 mins or drawing or play guitar.
  • Read.
  • Bed (usually around midnight)
I think it is a pretty darn good system. Over a year I've managed to lose ~8kg and write a 53000 word novel while working full time in a managerial position. However if you've got any suggestions to improve I'd love to hear it. Also I try to floss regularly (flossers live longer apparently).

*Meditation = God's/Universe's love, no attachments exercise, deep breathes x 5 and then nothing (spot thoughts and remind self to be kind to self)

**On gym days will go to gym after work and prior to dinner.
